Can offense stay hot? Scouting report, prediction for No. 2 Florida basketball vs Oklahoma

Florida basketball has executed as a high level on offense during its current four-game win streak.

The No. 2 Florida Gators (22-3, 9-3 SEC) will look to continue that trend when they host Oklahoma for the first time in school history on Tuesday at the O’Connell Center (7 p.m., ESPN2).

The Sooners (16-9, 3-9), under fourth-year coach Porter Moser, have struggled in their first year in the SEC. Oklahoma has lost four in a row, with its last win coming Feb. 1 at home against Vanderbilt (97-67).

Florida, meanwhile, takes a four-game win streak into this matchup. The Gators have averaged 86.3 points per game during the stretch, shooting 52.6% from the floor and 43.8% from 3-point range, while averaging 12.8 3-pointers made and 21.3 assists per game.

UF will again get the benefit of playing at home, where the Gators are 12-1 this season and 26-2 over their last two seasons. Florida’s five prior games against Oklahoma have been either in Norman or neutral sites.

“Playing in front of the fans in the O’Dome has been special,” Florida senior guard Will Richard said. “They’ve packed it up every night. They definitely gives us a boost.”

Though Oklahoma is playing at UF for the first time, Moser is no stranger to the O’Dome. On Dec. 6, 2017, as coach at Loyola Chicago, he led the school to a 65-59 upset of UF. Loyola wound up reaching the Final Four that season before falling to Michigan.

In 20 minutes, the 7-foot-1, 235-pound Handlogten was productive for UF in his season debut Saturday against South Carolina, finishing with two points, three rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals. It was his first action since suffering a compound fracture in his lower leg last March 17 against Auburn in the SEC Tournament/
