Where Oklahoma’s future opponents rank in latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll?

The Oklahoma Sooners would have to go on a significant run over the final six games of the regular season to find themselves in the top 25 of the updated USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. Oklahoma has lost four in a row since beating Vanderbilt, who was ranked in the top 25 at the time.

Three of those losses were by more than 18 points each, and then on Saturday, the Sooners had a disappointing finish when LSU came back from five points down in the final 24 seconds to stun Oklahoma on their home court. While their NCAA tournament hopes may be going up in flames at the moment, they can change the narrative significantly over their next five games.

Because over their next five games the Sooners face four teams currently ranked in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. Ole Miss, who had been a top 25 team, dropped out this week but is the top vote-getter among those receiving votes.

Next for the Sooners is a trip to Gainesville to take on the No. 2 Florida Gators. Then they play No. 23 Mississippi State, followed by No. 21 Kentucky, Ole Miss and then No. 16 Missouri. The Sooners will close the season on the road against the Texas Longhorns, a team Oklahoma lost to earlier in the year.

It will be a challenging final six games of the regular season for Porter Moser and his team as they hope to reignite their tournament chances.

Elsewhere in the top 25, the Auburn Tigers regained the top spot in the Coaches Poll after their win nine-point over Alabama. Following Auburn are the Gators, then No. 3 Duke, Alabama at No. 4, and Houston and former head coach Kelvin Sampson at No. 5.
