Georgia basketball knows about turning the page from rough road outings to the next SEC home game.

The final 20 minutes of Georgia’s 69-53 loss at Texas A&M Tuesday night certainly qualify as rough. They were hard to watch for Bulldog fans.

Georgia gave up 22 straight points and didn’t make a field goal until an Asa Newell dunk with 7:16 to go in the game. Coach Mike White said the Aggies’ ramped up their pressure during a half when Texas A&M shot 56% and employed a matchup zone.

The Bulldogs led by nine at halftime, but fell to 3-4 in SEC games after leading at the half and remained winless on the road in conference.

Georgia (16-9, 4-8 SEC) has lost seven of its last nine games entering Saturday’s tilt with No. 22 Missouri (18-6, 7-4)

“I feel like we lost a little bit of focus in the second half,” Georgia guard Blue Cain said.

Why is that?

“I feel like that’s kind of the million-dollar question we’re trying to figure out,” he said. “We just can’t do that.”

Forward Dylan James said he wanted to use the the lack of focus in the second half as “fuel for the next game.”

James said Georgia went hard in Thursday’s practice.

“It’s a new day, we’ve got to come out ready to attack,” Cain said.
