How to watch UNC-Syracuse ACC basketball matchup on Saturday, February 15

In hopes of a needed trip back into the winning column, your UNC basketball team makes a trip to The Empire State for a 6 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, February 15 with the Syracuse Orange.

North Carolina (14-11, 7-6 ACC) is once again searching for its identity after a blowout, 85-65 loss at Clemson on Monday night. The Tar Heels entered their matchup with the second-place Tigers in a solid position to prove themselves as a legitimate competitor, but fell flat and reverted back to December tendencies.

Syracuse (11-14, 5-9), once amongst college basketball’s elite, is in a similar position as their UNC counterparts. Despite splitting their past four games, the Orange are enduring arguably their worst season since before 2000. Jim Boeheim retired in March 2023 – and this year’s edition of Syracuse doesn’t have many impressive wins on its resumé.

North Carolina holds a 17-7 advantage in its all-time series against the Orange, but the latter won 86-79 in this series’ most recent matchup – on February 13, 2024 in Syracuse.

The Tar Heels need to showcase a sense of urgency if they want any slight shot at extending their season into March. We though UNC fixed its issues in early January, at one point winning four in a row, but consecutive, 1-point losses to Stanford and Wake Forest showcased the happiness was short-lived.

There’s no doubt watch North Carolina basketball this season is more hot and cold than Katy Perry’s hit song, but what’s frustrating is how much the talent is underachieving.
