Duke basketball has a losing record against 14 college hoops programs. Here’s the list

Duke basketball has the fourth-most victories in the history of men’s college hoops, trailing only Kentucky, Kansas and rival North Carolina.

As the third-ranked Blue Devils (21-3, 13-1 ACC) continue their 120th season in program history, they enter Saturday’s game (4 p.m., ABC) against Stanford (16-9, 8-6) with the opportunity to remove the Cardinal from an exclusive club.

Entering its first game at Cameron Indoor Stadium, Stanford is one of 14 college basketball programs with a winning record against the Blue Devils.

Here’s a breakdown of the Cardinal’s history against Duke and the other teams that have more wins than losses against the Devils.

Stanford

Duke has a 1-2 record against the Cardinal. Each of those games were at a neutral site, with Stanford earning an 80-79 overtime win in 1999 at Madison Square Garden before Casey Jacobsen banked in a jumper in the final seconds for an 84-83 win in Oakland. The Blue Devils had a 70-59 win in 2014 at the Garden before going on to win the national championship later that season.

UNC

With a 145-118 record against Duke, the Tar Heels have the upper hand in college basketball’s greatest rivalry. In the last 101 meetings, the Blue Devils have a 52-49 record against UNC. Duke earned a 17-point win on Feb. 1 against the Heels at Cameron.

Kentucky

The Wildcats have a 13-11 record against Duke, including a 77-72 win against the Blue Devils earlier this season in Atlanta. But the Blue Devils have won nine of the last 12 games in the series.

Arizona

Duke snapped a three-game losing streak against the Wildcats with a 14-point win earlier this season in Tucson. But Arizona still has a 6-5 edge in the all-time series.

Purdue

The Blue Devils have won three of their last five games against the Boilermakers, but Purdue is 5-3 in the all-time series.

Arkansas

Duke has a 2-3 record against the Razorbacks, who beat the Blue Devils last season in Fayetteville.

Georgia
