After two tough losses on the road, USC men’s basketball was in major need of a bounce-back victory. On Tuesday night against Penn State, they got that and then some.
Welcoming a struggling Nittany Lions team to Galen Center, the Trojans came out firing and never looked back. USC shot an incredible 75% from behind the three-point line and put up 92 points in a 25-point blowout.
Leading the way for the Trojans was senior guard Chibuzo Agbo. Agbo scored all 21 of his points on three-point attempts, of which he made seven of nine. It was his highest point total in Big Ten play this season.
Coming off of a blowout loss at No. 7 Purdue on Friday, the blowout victory over Penn State was exactly what the Trojans needed. USC has another very winnable game on Saturday at home against Minnesota, giving the Trojans a legit opportunity to start a winning streak in conference play.
With four weeks left to play in the regular season, USC is currently in a three-way tie for eighth place in the Big Ten. Finishing in the top nine of the conference would be massive, as it would give the Trojans a first round bye in the Big Ten Tournament.
