The Oklahoma Sooners fell to 16-8 and 3-8 in SEC play after an 82-58 loss to the No. 21 Missouri Tigers on Wednesday night in Columbia.

It was a rough outing all the way around for the Sooners, who shot just 21.9% from the field in the first half. The Sooners had 10 turnovers in the first 20 minutes, an area that’s plagued the Sooners all season. With just under 10 minutes to go in the first half, the Tigers built a 12-point lead, stretching to 20 by halftime and that was pretty much the ball game. With Oklahoma struggling to maintain possession and to shoot, the Tigers were able to coast to victory.

Oklahoma’s struggles were highlighted by a rough night from their two leading scorers Jalon Moore and Jeremiah Fears. The duo combined to shoot 6 for 27 (22.2%) from the field for a combined 18 points. Oklahoma also didn’t get much out of their bench as the reserves contributed just nine points in the loss.

For the game, the Sooners shot 31.9%, buoyed by a much more efficient second half. However, the intensity of the game changed with the Tigers able to continue building their lead. The Sooners trailed at one point by 29 points late in the second half.

It’s the third game in a row in which the Sooners lost by 18 or more points, and it’s their third loss by 20 or more points in SEC play.

Though the Sooners are well within the NCAA tournament field at this point with a NET rating in the mid-40s and projected to be a 10-seed by USA TODAY Sports, they’ll need to find some signs of life over their final seven games. Oklahoma plays five teams currently ranked in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

The Sooners are back in action on Saturday when they take on the LSU Tigers at 5 p.m. CT in Norman.
