Alabama basketball defeated Texas 103-80 on Tuesday night, extending its winning streak to seven games.
The win flips the page to the final chapter of the regular season for the Crimson Tide, one that explains the SEC gauntlet in a nutshell: Alabama will face seven ranked opponents in a row to end the conference slate this season, starting with a No. 1-vs.-No. 2 matchup with archrival Auburn at home, before playing the Tigers again in Auburn for the regular season finale.

“Yeah, it’s gonna be tough,” Oats said. “I can’t imagine anybody’s got a tougher seven-game stretch to end the year. We got Auburn twice, we gotta go to Tennessee, Florida at home. Those guys are all in the top five. We got Mississippi State and Kentucky for the lower-ranked ones.
“It’s gonna be a brutal schedule, but we had a tough nonconference schedule, I thought our guys were prepared. We’re getting healthy. We’re looking forward to it, but it’s going to take some good play. If we shoot 60% from 3 that’ll help the cause in the last seven games.”
Oats laughed as he said the last sentence in his response, as Alabama was unstoppable offensively on Tuesday night, shooting 17 of 29 from 3-point range and 61.8% from the field overall. Oats’ squad had five players score in double figures, with Jarin Stevenson leading the charge with 22 points on 7-of-8 shooting.
Alabama finishes the regular season with Auburn, Missouri, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Florida and Auburn again, in order. The No. 1-ranked scoring offense in the country (90.5 points per game) hopes it can shoot like it did on Tuesday the rest of the way, same as any team does, of course.
A win over Auburn on Saturday at home, with the entire college basketball world watching, could potentially…
