It may not have been the best week for USC, but overall it was an exciting weekend of basketball action in the Big Ten Conference. Big Ten basketball scores told plenty of stories, most of them interesting and relevant to the national picture one month before the 2025 NCAA Tournament field is announced.
Michigan State got a much needed bounce back victory. Michigan survived an upset bid on the road. UCLA stayed hot with a blowout win. With four weeks left in the regular season, the conference race is heating up.
Let’s take a look at the results from around the Big Ten this weekend.
Friday: No. 7 Purdue 90, USC 72
The undermanned Trojans were dominated on the road by a top 10 Purdue team.
Saturday: No. 9 Michigan State 86, Oregon 74
After falling behind in the first half, the Spartans dominated in the second half for a much needed bounce back victory.
Saturday: No. 21 Wiscondin 74, Iowa 63
The Badgers took care of business on the road behind a big second half.
Saturday: No. 24 Michigan 70, Indiana 67
Michigan traveled to Assembly Hall and survived a Hoosiers team hungry for an upset.
Saturday: UCLA 78, Penn State 54
UCLA dominated a hapless Nittany Lions squad at home.
Saturday: No. 23 Illinois 95, Minnesota 74
The Illini took care of business on the road against the Gophers.
Saturday: Washington 76, Northwestern 71
The Huskies prevailed in a battle of purple Big Ten bottom feeders.
Sunday: No. 18 Maryland 90, Rutgers 81
The Terrapins continued their strong season with a home win over the Scarlet Knights.
Sunday: Nebraska 79, Ohio State 81
The Huskers mounted a second half comeback to take down the Buckeyes in Lincoln.
