MADISON – The Wisconsin men’s basketball team was a major mover in both national polls this week.
The Badgers climbed five spots in the Associated Press poll to No. 16. That is the third-largest jump this week behind No. 13 Arizona’s move up seven spots and No. 16 Ole Miss’ six-spot jump.
UW moved up four spots to No. 15 in the USA Today coaches poll.
The rankings come after the Badgers scored a 76-64 win over Indiana last Tuesday and a 74-63 victory at Iowa on Saturday. The victories completed a run of seven games over a three-week span that include two games in Los Angeles as well as visits to Maryland, Northwestern and Iowa.
Wisconsin has a mid-week bye in the Big Ten and returns to action at noon Saturday at Purdue (19-5, 11-2).
Here is the rundown of the rest of the Big Ten in the rankings: Purdue (No. 7 AP/7 coaches), Michigan State (11/11), Michigan (20/17), Maryland (25/25).
