Brad Brownell and the Clemson men’s basketball team recovered from their triple-overtime loss to Georgia Tech on Saturday with one of the program’s biggest regular-season wins in history.
Clemson (19-5, 11-2 ACC) took down the No. 2 Duke Blue Devils 77-71 in front of their home crowd in LittleJohn Coliseum, as big of a win as they come in college basketball. Brownell and the Tigers have proven to rise to the occasion on the biggest stage, with their NET ranking reflecting their strong play against top competition this year.
Following the win, the Tigers moved back up to No. 30 in the rankings. It was another huge Quad 1 win for the Tigers moving them to 3-2 in the all important category. Two of those massive wins came from college basketball blue bloods the Blue Devils and the Kentucky Wildcats. The third Quad 1 win came from a competitive Pitt team.
In Quad 2, the Tigers hold a 5-2 record, two of which wins in neutral sites. Overall, Clemson has been highly competitive against the top teams in the country, which is what you want to see from the team. Brownell continues to do an excellent job at the helm.
