Just another week in the mad, mad world of SEC basketball.
Week 14 in college basketball (and Week 6 in the SEC) saw the nation’s No. 1 ranked team go down for the first time all year in conference play. The No. 6 Florida Gators got 36 points combined from Walter Clayton Jr. and Alex Condon to hold off the top-ranked Auburn Tigers, 90-81.
Auburn’s loss, coupled with Alabama’s 85-81 win over Arkansas Saturday night, means there’s a tie atop the SEC standings. It could also mean that there’ll be a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup next Saturday when the Crimson Tide and Tigers meet at Coleman Coliseum (3 p.m. CT, ESPN), depending on how Monday’s Top 25 polls shape out.

Auburn wasn’t the only team that fell on Saturday. Missouri, which entered last week third in the standings, suffered back-to-back losses in SEC play at Tennessee on Wednesday and at home against Texas A&M Saturday. Mizzou tumbled out of the top five in the standings while the Aggies, Vols and Gators all rose.
Also on the rise? Ole Miss, which blew out Kentucky as the Wildcats’ recent struggles continued, then needed a last-second shot from Dre Davis with 0.1 remaining to beat an LSU team that ranks near the very bottom of the standings.
After another wild week in the nation’s best conference, here’s an updated look at the current SEC standings after six weeks of league play.
