The Indiana State men’s basketball team has won three games in row as the Sycamores head to Des Moines, Iowa, to battle the Drake Bulldogs on Saturday.
Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. EST inside Knapp Center at Des Moines, Iowa.
ISU is coming off a dominant 80-62 victory over Valparaiso on Wednesday night, while Drake won at Murray State 55-45 on Tuesday.
Going into Saturday’s game, Samage Teel said the Sycamores were going into practice to do the same that they’ve done for the past three games. That means looking at what the Bulldogs like to do, what they’ve been doing previously and then they’re going to look at their team and what they can do to stop what Drake is doing.
He also mentioned they’ll look at what they can do to improve both offensively and defensively.
Camp Wagner has been on fire as he’s dropped a career-high 22 points in each of his last two games.
“Teammates keep finding me in good positions and keep getting me the ball where I need it and they’re starting to fall,” Wagner told the Tribune-Star.
Teel continues to lead the team in scoring with an average of 16.3 points per game, with Jaden Daughtry the other Sycamore in double figures with an average of 12.6 ppg.
Teel acknowledged how this is his first season in the Missouri Valley Conference and how coach Matthew Graves always tells them how they can lose on any given night in the MVC. With the playing experience he now has in the MVC, Teel said that statement by Graves is very true.
Aaron Gray leads Indiana State in rebounding with an average of 5.6 per game.
On the opposing side, Bennett Stirtz paces the Bulldogs with an average of 18.6 ppg with Mitch Mascari next at 11.1 ppg and Daniel Abreu at 10.9. Cam Manyawu leads Drake in rebounds with an average of 5.8.
With the way the Sycamores have played in their last few games, Teel noted how one key to a successful trip to Drake will be playing hard. He said he felt like in some of the games they lost, they didn’t go into them playing hard. He felt they didn’t start…
