OTTUMWA — Third-ranked Indian Hills used a sharp-shooting first half to pull away in the first half against Sauk Valley.

The Warriors pulled away from the Skyhawks, sinking nine of 15 attempts from 3-point range in the first half opening a 21-point halftime lead. Quinton Perkins II led a dominant night for the Warrior bench, scoring a game-high 24 points as Indian Hills secured its 10th consecutive victory with an 85-54 triumph on Thursday at the Hellyer Student Life Center.

Perkins II hit his first five shots from beyond the 3-point arc, shooting 9-12 overall from the field in the win. Ater Manyuon added 10 points, including an electric dunk off a lob pass midway through the second half to help lock up IHCC’s fifth win in the past 10 games by 20 or more points.

Joao Das Chagas, the reigning National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Player of the Week, tallied his third consecutive double-double. After averaging 18.5 points and 16.5 rebounds a game last week, Das Chagas began this week with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Warriors.

Indian Hills (21-4) will put their current winning streak to the test next Tuesday. The third-ranked Warriors will head to seventh-ranked Triton in a battle of two teams that made the NJCAA National Tournament semifinals last March.
