The Nebraska men’s basketball remained up in the Pacific Northwest, traveling to Washington for an after-dark bout in the Big Ten Conference. The Huskers started off struggling against the Washington Huskies, heading into the locker rooms down 47-37. But Nebraska took off the second half, outscoring Washington 49-25 to get its third-straight win 86-72.

The Huskies outshot the Huskers by four from the floor and from beyond the arc in the first. But Nebraska’s defense locked down Washington in the second half, allowing just 10 made shots and one made three-pointer.

The Huskers’ offense took advantage of that, going 16-of-29 from the floor, 6-of-9 from three-point range, and 11-of-14 from the free-throw line in the second. This allowed the Huskers to take the lead heading into the final 10 minutes of the game, outscoring Washington 25-15 in that stretch to get the win.

Brice Williams scored a team-high 23 points in the win, making it his 11th 20-point game of the season after earning only five last season. Williams shot 7-of-14 from the floor, a team-high 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, and 5-of-5 from the free throw line.

Williams co-led the Huskers from three-point range alongside Connor Essegian, who shot 4-of-5. Essegian finished with 16 points on the night, going 5-of-9 from the floor and 2-of-2 from the line. Juwan Gary dropped 17 points, shooting 6-of-10, 2-of-4 and 3-of-4 respectively.

Nebraska improves to 15-8 on the season and 5-7 in the conference. The team will return home to host the Ohio State Buckeyes on Sunday afternoon. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
