MUNCIE — A historically great stretch continued for Ball State women’s basketball Wednesday night.
With a 71-51 win at home over Bowling Green, Ball State (19-4, 11-0 MAC) won its 13th straight and 11th straight MAC game, the best start to conference play in program history. The 20-point victory felt like business as usual — the Cardinals have won their conference games by an average margin of 17.7 points.
Despite the dominance, they aren’t satisfied.
“For us, we talk way more about playing to the standard,” coach Brady Sallee said. “We’ve had a couple wins this year where none of us like the way we play. You learn lessons, you try to find a way to get better, and that’s one thing these guys are doing right now, as hard as it is.”
Senior guard Madalyn Bischoff led the team in scoring with 20 points and shot 6-for-10 from 3-point range. Ball State also got a pair of double-doubles from senior guard Ally Becki (17 points, 10 assists) and senior forward Alex Richard (17 points, 11 rebounds).

Becki has led the dominant stretch with some prolific stat stuffing. In MAC play, Becki is fifth in the conference in points per game (17.4), leads the conference in assists per game (6.5), and is third in the conference in steals per game (3.0). She also owns the conference’s best 3-point percentage (52.6%) and best assist/turnover ratio (2.7).
“It’s always a long season, and I feel like every year since my freshman year, we’ve always been successful, and we’ve gotten better every year,” Becki said. “You just try not to look at the winning streak. It’s kind of in the back of my head.”
Although Becki is the easy choice for MAC Player of the Year, it hasn’t been a one-woman show. The team’s forward duo of Marie Kiefer and Richard lead Ball State’s stout defense as the MAC’s top two shot blockers….
