Wisconsin basketball fans, media react to Badgers win over Indiana

Wisconsin basketball cruised to a 76-64 win over Indiana on Tuesday night.

The Badgers were in control throughout the contest. They built a 19-2 lead in the game’s early minutes, then held at least a double-digit advantage through the final buzzer. The final 12-point margin portrays a closer game than the reality, as Indiana tallied six points in the final minute to trim the deficit.

The game followed the same script as many of the Badgers’ home victories this season: The team’s offense proved too much for the opponent to contain. This began with Wisconsin’s 19-2 blitz to start the game, as Indiana inexplicably left three-point shooters wide open behind the arc. It then continued deep into the second half. Whenever the Hoosiers made a run, Wisconsin responded decisively.

Senior guard Max Klesmit led that charge (13 points, six assists and three steals), with Nolan Winter (12 points and five rebounds on five-of-seven shooting) and John Tonje (15 points and five rebounds) each also playing significant roles.

Wisconsin improves to 18-5 (8-4 Big Ten) with the triumph. It also improves to 12-1 at home (6-0 since falling to Michigan on Dec. 3). With Michigan State’s loss to UCLA, Wisconsin is now just two games back of Purdue for first place in the Big Ten.
