The general landscape of college basketball has been an ever-rotating machine over the last five years. The introduction of the NIL and the abolishing of any former transfer penalties has led to a mass free agency in college athletics.
For North Carolina, the current system that they have been using, passed down from Dean Smith and Roy Williams to the now 54-year-old Hubert Davis, is a system that is proving futile in the new dominion of college basketball. “We are going to hire a GM.”
