Batavia grad Jess Roller makes SportsCenter Top 10 with powerful dunk

Batavia graduate Jess Roller earned a spot on the SportsCenter Top 10 Monday night on ESPN.

Roller, a freshman guard for the Bethany College men’s basketball team, earned the No. 4 spot after a powerful driving dunk from the top of the key.

He had a team-high 23 points off the bench plus eight rebounds as Bethany defeated Westminster, 89-82. Both are NCAA Division III programs and former conference rivals of Thomas More University in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference. Bethany is located in the West Virginia panhandle.

Roller averages 14 points per game for the Bison, who are 7-12. He has started six games and averages 21 minutes a contest. He has made 22 3-pointers, including three last night.

The 6-foot-5 freshman averaged 18.7 points per game last year for Batavia.
