Final update for Zakai Zeigler against Florida

No. 8 Tennessee (17-4, 4-4 SEC) will host No. 6 Florida (18-2, 5-2 SEC) on Saturday at Food City Center. Rankings reflect the USA TODAY Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll.

Tipoff between the Vols and Gators is slated for noon EST and will be televised by ESPN. Tom hart (play-by-play) and former Vol Dane Bradshaw will be on the call.

Saturday will mark the second meeting between the Vols and Gators this season. Tennessee suffered its first loss of the 2024-25 campaign on Jan. 7 at Florida. The Gators were victorious, 73-43, in Gainesville, Florida. Tennessee started the season 14-0 before losing at Florida.

Tennessee leads the all time men’s basketball series versus Florida, 81-60, dating to 1927.

Ahead of tipoff, Pete Thamel of ESPN provided an update on Tennessee guard Zakai Zeigler against Florida.

“Tennessee senior Zakai Zeigler will not play against No. 5 Florida today, coach Rick Barnes told ESPN,” Thamel announced. “He missed practice on Thursday with a knee injury, which he hurt against Kentucky on Tuesday. He averages 12.3 points for the Vols.”
