Big 12 women’s basketball power rankings: Oklahoma State claims the top spot

Now more than ever, the Big 12 crown is up for grabs.

After dominating conference play, No. 11-ranked Kansas State (19-2, 7-1 Big 12) suffered a 63-53 road loss to Colorado on Saturday. The Wildcats were without Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year Ayoka Lee, who’s out indefinitely with a fractured foot.

Kansas State should still be feared with Serena Sundell, Temira Poindexter and other key contributors in the mix. But it’s no longer the undisputed favorite in a conference that has plenty of contenders.

Let’s get into this week’s Big 12 power rankings:

This week: at West Virginia (Saturday)

What to know: No. 25 OSU (18-3, 8-2 Big 12) secured a 71-68 road win over Texas Tech on Saturday and an 83-71 home win over Arizona State on Wednesday. Stailee Heard led the way for the Cowgirls by averaging 31 points. OSU will get tested with No. 20 West Virginia and No. 11 Kansas State on deck.

This week: at Iowa State (Sunday); at Kansas State (Wednesday)

What to know: No. 9 TCU (20-2, 8-1 Big 12) fended off then-No. 23 Baylor on Sunday for an 80-75 home win. The Horned Frogs’ star trio of Sedona Prince, Hailey Van Lith and Madison Conner combined for 64 points.

This week: vs. Iowa State (Thursday); at Kansas (Sunday); vs. TCU (Wednesday)

What to know: No. 11 Kansas State (19-2, 7-1 Big 12) is no longer undefeated in conference play following its 63-53 loss at Colorado on Saturday. The Wildcats only went 22 for 59 (37.3%) from the field without Lee, who leads the conference in field goal percentage (65.4%).

What to know: Baylor (17-5, 7-2 Big 12)…
