DURHAM — Duke basketball’s Maliq Brown went through a non-contact practice and “felt pretty good” Wednesday, but his status is uncertain for Saturday’s game (6:30 p.m., ESPN) against UNC.
“It’s one practice, so we’ll see how he does (Thursday) and (Friday) and go from there,” Duke coach Jon Scheyer said Thursday inside the Bill Brill Media Room at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
“He felt pretty good yesterday.”
One of Duke’s most versatile defenders, Brown has missed the last four games with a knee sprain.
The Syracuse transfer warmed up ahead of Duke’s game against N.C. State, but Scheyer mentioned the importance of conditioning and game shape as the second-ranked Blue Devils (18-2, 10-0 ACC) prepare for the Tar Heels (13-9, 6-4).
“(Thursday), we’ll test it out, see how he feels,” Scheyer said. “Then, just make a determination based on how he’s feeling Saturday, if there’s a real chance or not.”
