The UConn men’s basketball team has dropped six spots in the latest Associated Press Top 25 rankings. The Huskies have also dropped in the USA Today Coaches Poll following Saturday’s 76-72 loss against Xavier in Cincinnati.
The Huskies (14-6) also dropped six spots to No. 24 in the USA Today Sports Coaches Poll.
Only two other Big East teams join UConn in this week’s polls. Marquette (17-3) moved up one spot to No. 9 in both the AP Poll and USA Today Poll, while St. John’s made the biggest jump in this week’s poll. The Red Storm (17-3) moved up six spots to No. 15 in the AP Poll. It is the Red Storm’s highest ranking since the 2014-15 season when they peaked at No. 15.
St. John’s also moved up seven spots to No. 14 in the USA Today Poll.
UConn travels to Milwaukee to meet Marquette at Fiserv Forum on Feb. 1. The Huskies and St. John’s battle at Madison Square Garden on Feb. 23.

UConn and St. John’s meet at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs on Feb. 7. The Huskies host Marquette at Gampel Pavilion on March 5.
