Here’s who is out for Kentucky at Tennessee basketball on the SEC injury report

Tennessee basketball is facing a shorthanded Kentucky team Tuesday.

Wildcats senior guard Lamont Butler (shoulder) is out and senior forward Andrew Carr (back) is questionable, according to the SEC injury report posted Monday.

No. 8 Tennessee (17-3, 4-3 SEC) plays No. 12 Kentucky (14-5, 3-3) on Tuesday (7 p.m. ET, ESPN) at Food City Center.

Butler, a San Diego State transfer, is Kentucky’s second-leading scorer and assist leader, scoring 13.2 points per game and dropping 4.8 assists per game while hitting 40% of his 3-pointers. Carr, a Wake Forest transfer, is averaging 10.9 points.

Guard Kerr Krissa also is out for Kentucky after having foot surgery on a broken bone in his foot.

J.P. Estrella is out for the season for Tennessee

Estrella underwent season-ending foot surgery in November.

The sophomore forward dealt with a lingering left foot injury during the offseason. He returned for the start of the season and played in three games before he was shut down. He ended up needing surgery.

Estrella and Tennessee will pursue a medical redshirt, which if granted would mean Estrella still has three seasons of eligibility remaining.

How SEC availability report works

The SEC student-athlete availability report was introduced this season for conference games only.

The initial report is released at 8:10 p.m. ET the night before a game and a follow-up report is issued two hours before tipoff on game days.

Out: Will not play, 0% chance to play.

Doubtful: Unlikely to play, 25% chance to play.
