A week that included a last-second win over Ole Miss followed by a similar late-game situation resulting in a loss to Texas has Texas A&M men’s basketball ranked 15th and 13th in both the USA TODAY Coaches Poll and AP Top 25, respectively.
A&M was undefeated in December to close out nonconference play but has been up and down against the SEC, sitting at 4-3. Virtually every game has been a battle for the Aggies, who have overcome double-digit deficits for wins and have squandered big leads for losses as well.

It doesn’t get much easier. Next is a home test against Oklahoma, followed by a trip to Columbia to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Despite recent losses, the Aggies are still viewed favorably by poll voters. The Aggies enter the fourth week of conference play as the best team in the country in offensive rebounding, collecting 16.5 a game. Guard Zhuric Phelps is the leading scorer at 15.1 points per game, taking over for Wade Taylor IV, who (14.7 ppg) missed three games.
