Arkansas basketball will have two signees playing at this year’s McDonald’s All-American Games.
Five-star guards Darius Acuff Jr. and Meleek Thomas were selected for the prestigious event. Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Acuff committed to John Calipari and the Hogs over the summer. The Detroit-native plays for IMG Academy in Florida, and, according to the 247Sports Composite, is the second-ranked point guard in the country and the No. 11 player overall.

At 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, Acuff has prototypical size to play point guard in the NBA and he has the chance to be a premier defender both in college and one day in the professional ranks. He averaged 21 points per game on Nike’s EYBL Circuit in 2024.
He will play for the West, while Thomas represents the East at the McDonald’s All-American Game.
Thomas announced his commitment to Arkansas in November. He is the No. 2 shooting guard and No. 9 player in the 2025 class. Originally from Pennsylvania, Thomas is playing for the City Reapers with the Overtime Elite league in Atlanta. Arkansas freshman forward Karter Knox participated in the Overtime Elite league last year.
IMG Academy’s Darius Acuff (5) talks with media members after defeating Orchard Lake St. Mary 67-62 at Oakland University in Rochester on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025.
Arkansas is the only SEC school with multiple players invited to the event. UConn and Duke will each have three representatives, and they have two of the top three recruiting classes in the country. The Hogs’ 2025 class is currently fourth.
Another McDonald’s All-American, Nate Ament, is a priority target for Arkansas coach John Calipari. Ament is still considering a host of schools, including Kentucky, Duke, Texas, Tennessee and Alabama.
