The Texas Tech basketball team has made a good living on the road so far in Big 12 Conference play, but the Red Raiders will enjoy the comforts of United Supermarkets Arena for their next two games.
The 25th-ranked Red Raiders (14-4, 5-2) return home Sunday (2 p.m., ESPN+) to take on Oklahoma State (10-8, 1-5). Three of Texas Tech’s next four games will be played at home, and head coach Grant McCasland is looking forward to a bit of a homestay this week.

“There’s nothing more fun than a basketball game when our students are here,” McCasland said. “Unbelievable environment. They made such a huge difference in our last home game against Arizona.”
The Big 12 has not traditionally had conference games on Sundays, though that has been part of the shift with the 16-team conference with a 20-game schedule. It has allowed the Red Raiders an extra day of rest after their 81-71 win at Cincinnati on Tuesday, which McCasland said should be beneficial.
“This is about as good a gap as we’re going to get,” McCasland said, “… and we needed a couple days to get ourselves in order.”

One player in particular who could use the extra day of rest is Darrion Williams, who tweaked his ankle in back-to-back games against Kansas State and Arizona. Williams struggled against the Wildcats, and again Tuesday against Cincinnati.
McCasland said Williams “looks great” and the team’s ability to win games without their linchpin playing up to his usual standard has been exactly what the coach has been looking for all season.
