After front-loading its 2024-25 schedule with a slew of highly touted nonconference opponents, Auburn basketball is positioned for the same next season, announcing Friday that it’ll play in the Players Era Men’s Championship in Las Vegas the next three years.

That means the Tigers will head to the City of Sin for the 2025-26, 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons.

“Auburn Basketball is really excited about being a part of the field at the Players Era Festival the next three years,” Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said. “It is an opportunity for our student-athletes to compete at a very high level and be included in this revolutionary concept of scheduling. It also ensures that we will be playing against the best teams in the non-conference in college basketball. Our fans will no doubt enjoy the opportunity to travel and be a part of this experience.”

The Players Era Championship debuted this season, with an eight-team field that included Alabama, Houston and Texas A&M, among others. Next season, however, Players Era will take on a larger format, with the Tigers becoming part of a 17-team field that’s slated to include Alabama, Baylor, Creighton, Gonzaga, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Rutgers, San Diego State, St. Joseph’s, St. John’s, Syracuse and Texas A&M.

According to a release, next year’s Players Era field includes 12 teams currently ranked or receiving votes in the latest AP Top 25 poll, including seven teams in the top-15 in No. 1 Auburn, No. 3 Iowa State, No. 4 Alabama, No. 7 Houston, No. 12 Kansas, No. 13 Texas A&M and No. 15 Oregon.

The event is built heavily around the new-look world of name, image and likeness in college sports. According to a release, next year’s tournament coincide with the opportunity for participating players to engage in at least $1 million of NIL activities for Players Era and its sponsors outside of competition.
