LAWRENCE — Kansas basketball is going for a second straight victory Wednesday at TCU.
The No. 11 Jayhawks (13-4, 4-2 in Big 12) are coming off of a win at home against Kansas State. The Horned Frogs (10-7, 3-3 in Big 12) just beat Baylor on the road. It’s a matchup that will mean a lot for the race for the Big 12 Conference regular-season crown.
Ahead of tipoff scheduled for 6 p.m. (CT), here are a few things to keep in mind and a prediction:

This is the latest on the shoulder injury to Kansas basketball’s KJ Adams
On a recent Hawk Talk with Bill Self show, Self reiterated that forward KJ Adams would not play against TCU. While the Kansas basketball coach noted Adams is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a shoulder injury, and is going to be able to return soon than usual for that injury because of who he is mentally and physically, there is still healing to be done. Self said there were torn ligaments and Adams would miss at a minimum three to four games.
Adams missed the win against Kansas State. Should he miss four games, he would miss the rest of January and return Feb. 1 at Baylor.
Bill Self previews TCU matchup
Self acknowledged on Hawk Talk with Bill Self that TCU has been a difficult matchup for Kansas and highlighted the Horned Frogs’ win at Baylor. He pointed out center Ernest Udeh Jr., a former Jayhawks player, thrived at Baylor with 16 points and 15 rebounds. How Kansas handles TCU’s play in transition will be key.
Self views Kansas as being in the Big 12 upper echelon. But to stay in contention for the championship, he knows a win against the Horned Frogs is vital.
Hunter Dickinson is coming off of a significant performance
While Kansas center Hunter Dickinson struggled in a loss at Iowa State, he bounced back against Kansas State with 25 points and eight rebounds. His aggressiveness on offense helped the Jayhawks hold off any K-State runs.
