Ole Miss basketball beat Alabama on Tuesday for its first road win against a top five team in program history but followed it with a road loss to Mississippi State in overtime.
Still, the Rebels moved up in this week’s national polls. Ole Miss (15-3, 4-1 SEC) and coach Chris Beard jumped five spots to No. 16 in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25. Twenty of the 25 teams in last week’s Coaches Poll suffered a loss.
The Rebels host No. 13 Texas A&M (14-4, 3-2) on Wednesday (8 p.m., ESPN2) and play at No. 24 Missouri (15-3, 4-1) on Saturday (5 p.m., SEC Network).
