STARKVILLE — Mississippi State basketball split its two games last week but has moved up in the latest national polls.
The Bulldogs (15-3, 3-2 SEC) lost at Auburn on Tuesday, but beat Ole Miss in overtime on Saturday. They are both No. 14 in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll and the AP Top 25. The Bulldogs rose four spots in the Coaches Poll and one spot in the AP Poll. Twenty of the 25 teams in last week’s Coaches Poll suffered a loss.
MSU plays at No. 7 Tennessee (16-2, 3-2) on Tuesday (6 p.m., ESPN2) then at South Carolina (10-8, 0-5) on Saturday (noon, SEC Network).
