Kansas State’s basketball team is back in action Wednesday. The team is looking for its first road victory of the season and to also end a five-game losing streak with a trip to Waco, Texas, to take on Baylor in an 8 p.m. game at Foster Pavilion.
The Wildcats (7-10, 1-5 Big 12) also will try to snap a 14-game road losing streak after falling at Kansas on Saturday, 84-74. Baylor (11-6, 3-3) has dropped its last two games, including a 74-71 decision at home Sunday against TCU.
K-State did show improvement over the past week, taking Texas Tech to the wire in a 61-57 home loss last Tuesday, and after a disastrous start at KU, trimmed a 16-point deficit to six in the second half before faltering down the stretch.
This will be K-State’s only game against Baylor this season and its first visit to Foster Pavilion, which opened last January. The Wildcats have won the last three meetings and lead the all-time series, 26-25.

K-State’s Jerome Tang has had success against his mentor
Kansas State coach Jerome Tang’s first college coaching job was as an assistant under Baylor’s Scott Drew. He spent 19 years on the Bears staff and was part of the school’s 2021 national championship team.
Since leaving Baylor for his first head coaching job at K-State in 2022-23, Tang has yet to lose to Drew and the Bears, sweeping their 2023 series and then winning last year at Bramlage Coliseum, 68-64.
Tang has not fared as well this season against former fellow Baylor assistants, losing to Paul Mills at Wichita State and at home last week to Grant McCasland and Texas Tech.
