The Wisconsin Badgers are currently one of the hottest teams in the Big Ten, if not in the entire sport. The team is now the winner of seven straight games, five of which have come against conference opponents over the last 15 days.
With that winning surge, Wisconsin’s record stands at 15-3 overall and 5-2 in Big Ten play. Those marks have the team up at No. 18 in the latest AP Poll.

The Badgers rose six spots from their previous No. 24 ranking. That jump is due to yet another 2-0 week — a 70-68 win over Ohio State and an 84-69 triumph over USC.
The Badgers are now the fifth-highest-ranked Big Ten team, only slotted behind No. 8 Michigan State, No. 11 Purdue, No. 15 Oregon and No. 17 Illinois. The other conference foe in the top 25 is No. 21 Michigan.
Auburn (17-1) leads the poll after receiving all 62 first-place votes. The Tigers are followed by No. 2 Duke, No. 3 Iowa State, No. 4 Alabama and No. 5 Florida.
Wisconsin will look to extend its winning streak on Tuesday when it squares off against UCLA (12-6, 3-4 Big Ten). It then continues with contests against Nebraska (12-6, 2-5 Big Ten), Maryland (14-5, 4-4 Big Ten) and Northwestern (11-7, 2-5 Big Ten) — the Badgers don’t face a ranked team until a Feb. 15 road trip to No. 11 Purdue (15-4, 7-1 Big Ten).
Wisconsin’s six-spot jump in the AP Poll is the tied with Purdue (No. 17 to No. 11) for the largest improvement. Greg Gard’s team could soon near the nation’s top-10 if it can extend its win streak into the double-digits.
