Bobby Hurley’s last brush with Cincinnati Bearcats basketball came in late 1989 when the No. 13 Duke Blue Devils beat the first Bob Huggins-coached team 95-83 in the Rainbow Classic in Honolulu. Hurley dished out eight assists.

Two seasons later, Hurley and Duke were in the Metrodome in Minneapolis with the Bearcats, but the squads would not meet as Michigan’s Fab Five eliminated UC in the 1992 Final Four. Hurley and Duke then beat the Wolverines for the national championship.

The Bearcats shot better Wednesday night in their 68-62 win at Colorado, so the hope is that kick-starts them on a new streak.
