Missouri basketball vs Arkansas: Scouting report, score prediction for Tigers-Razorbacks

Coach Cal and the reeling Razorbacks are coming to CoMo on the back of one of Missouri basketball’s biggest wins in recent seasons.

Missouri basketball will host Arkansas on Saturday evening at Mizzou Arena, which will be the Tigers’ first game since claiming a top-five win on the road at Florida midweek. The two teams are on very different streaks heading into the fifth game of the Southeastern Conference slate.

Mizzou (14-3, 3-1 SEC) has won its past three games, moving to the No. 26 spot in the NET rankings as a result. That means that the Tigers, as long as they remain in the top 30, will be a Quadrant-1 game for every team remaining on their schedule.

Arkansas (11-6, 0-4) is off to a brutal start in league play, dropping home games against Ole Miss and Florida and road trips at Tennessee and, most recently, LSU. Under new head coach John Calipari, the Razorbacks are trending toward missing the NCAA Tournament.

Here is what you need to know about the Razorbacks before they arrive at Mizzou Arena for Saturday’s game:

What are Arkansas’ strengths?

Arkansas’ best offense comes from its interior play.

Kentucky transfer Adou Thiero is averaging 16.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Tennessee transfer Jonas Aidoo and former Missouri transfer forward Trevon Brazile both average about five boards per game and own a +50% clip from the field. Zvonimir Ivišić, a 7-2 center, is a clear threat at the rim, but he also can stretch the floor and is actually the Razorbacks’ best 3-point shooter this season with a 21-of-49 (42.9%) mark.

The Razorbacks have a lot of issues this season, but getting points in the paint is not one of them, and that hasn’t escaped Missouri’s head coach.
