LAWRENCE — Kansas basketball will look to bounce back Saturday at home against Kansas State, in the latest edition of this in-state rivalry.
The No. 10 Jayhawks (12-4, 3-2 in Big 12) are coming off of a loss on the road against No. 2 Iowa State. The Wildcats (7-9, 1-4 in Big 12) are coming off of a loss at home against Texas Tech. Both teams entered the season with high expectations in the Big 12 Conference, and while one side has done more to meet those than the other, so far neither appears anywhere near satisfied.

Bill Self rules KJ Adams out against Kansas State, due to injury
After suffering a shoulder injury recently against Iowa State, KJ Adams has been ruled out for Kansas’ next game by coach Bill Self. Self, speaking Friday, noted Adams separated his shoulder and that the veteran forward’s status is week-to-week. Although Adams has already made progress since the Iowa State game, Self explained, it’s still a situation where Adams won’t play Saturday against Kansas State and will instead be re-evaluated in the next week.
Adams’ absence means Kansas will be without one of its regular starters and key contributors. It heightens the pressure on a number of players on the Jayhawks’ roster to step up in his absence. Self described Adams as the team’s most consistent player across the last handful of games.
