Will Arkansas basketball vs Florida be postponed because of snowstorm? What we know

FAYETTEVILLE — Winter weather swept through the entire state of Arkansas on Thursday night, but it has not altered Arkansas basketball’s game this weekend.

The Razorbacks (11-4, 0-2 SEC) will host No. 8 Florida (14-1, 1-1) on Saturday (3 p.m., ESPN) at Bud Walton Arena. There have been no changes to the schedule despite much of the state being under a Winter Storm Warning until early Friday evening.

Earlier this week, the University of Arkansas canceled all on-campus classes, beginning Thursday at 2 p.m. The university also shifted to remote operations for Friday.

According to The National Weather Service, Fayetteville had received six inches of snow by Friday morning. However, temperatures are forecasted to rise into the 40s Saturday with sunny skies.

The Hogs are desperately trying to get their SEC campaign off-and-running. Arkansas dropped its first two league games to Tennessee and Ole Miss, and the Gators beat the Volunteers by 30 points earlier this week.

John Calipari had never started 0-2 in the SEC until this season, and he had lost the first two conference games in a season just twice before in his 32-year coaching career.
