FYI: White has been as integral to Illinois’ success in the last month as any of his teammates. The veteran guard has three games with at least 20 points in his last seven games, including 20 in Wednesday night’s blowout win against Penn State. White averaged 16.1 points and 6.3 rebounds in that same stretch, while shooting 63.3 percent overall from the field, 35.7 percent from three-point range and 86.5 percent at the free-throw line.

FYI: Yates moved into USC’s starting lineup on Dec. 7 against Washington after playing 16 minutes per game off the bench in the Trojans’ first nine games of the season. The Washington transfer — he redshirted last season while injured — has seen his playing time tick up significantly since that move, and he led USC with 18 points in 39 minutes in Wednesday night’s loss at Indiana. Yates is averaging 13.5 points and 3.5 rebounds as a starter with a 44/38/88 shooting slash.
