Kansas State basketball vs Oklahoma State: Score prediction, scouting report

Kansas State’s basketball team let a shot at a Big 12 road victory slip away but has another opportunity to steal one Tuesday night at Oklahoma State.

After blowing a late lead in a 63-62 loss at TCU on Saturday, the Wildcats (7-6, 1-1 Big 12) head to Stillwater Oklahoma to wrap up a two-game road swing with a 7 p.m. game against OSU ((8-5, 0-2) at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Oklahoma State has struggled so far in league play, especially on offense. It fell 60-47 at home to Houston and then got blown out at West Virginia on Saturday, 69-50, after scoring just 19 first-half points.

K-State, which now has dropped 12 straight road games, including all three this season, led TCU by six points late but failed to score in the last 3 minutes, 14 seconds to once again come up empty.

A snowstorm in Manhattan forced K-State to remain in Fort Worth until Sunday and then fly directly to Stillwater without returning home between games.

Here are three things to know, plus a prediction, for Saturday’s game:

Wildcats have raised their game to start Big 12

Despite a disappointing finish in Saturday’s heartbreaker at TCU, Kansas State has played well enough to win both of its conference games so far after opening with a 70-67 upset of No. 17-ranked Cincinnati.

The Wildcats were competitive in each half of both games, a sharp contrast to their three straight losses to close out nonconference play, where they were blown out in the second half after leading by four at intermission at St. John’s and Wichita State and spotting Drake a 20-point lead in an overtime loss.
