Big 12 women’s basketball power rankings: TCU Horned Frogs reclaim the top spot

Only four teams remain undefeated in Big 12 play.

That group consists of No. 11 Kansas State, No. 12 TCU, Oklahoma State and Utah. But with other teams such as West Virginia, Baylor and Iowa State in the mix, there’s no shortage of conference title contenders.

Let’s get into this week’s conference power rankings:

This week: vs. Cincinnati (Saturday); at Kansas (Tuesday)

No. 12-ranked TCU (14-1, 2-0 Big 12) didn’t light up the scoreboard in its 63-50 home win over Colorado on Wednesday. It instead leaned on its defense by holding the Buffaloes to 18-for-51 shooting from the field (35.3%) and forcing 17 turnovers.

This week: vs. Texas Tech (Saturday); at Utah (Wednesday)

After being tied with Houston entering the fourth quarter, No. 11 Kansas State (14-1, 2-0 Big 12) avoided the upset on Wednesday by earning a 74-55 road win. The Wildcats got 15 points apiece from Ayoka Lee, Temira Poindexter and Jaelyn Glenn.

This week: vs. Kansas (Saturday); at Cincinnati (Wednesday)

Oklahoma State (12-1, 2-0 Big 12) dismantled Baylor for an 84-61 road win on Wednesday. The Cowgirls rank ninth in the nation in points per game (87.4) and have proven that their offense is legit, even against tougher competition.
