Ohio State will play inside “the world’s most famous arena” for its final non-conference game against a high-major opponent.

Saturday evening, the Buckeyes will take on No. 5 Kentucky as part of the CBS Sports Classic inside Madison Square Garden. The Wildcats are 10-1 and most recently played last Saturday, when they beat Louisville 93-85 in a home game.

The Buckeyes defeated Valparaiso on Tuesday night despite being shorthanded, and it’s not yet clear whether Ohio State will be closer to full strength for this game. Meechie Johnson Jr., Aaron Bradshaw, Ques Glover and Colin White all missed the 95-73 win against the Beacons.

“This is a veteran team that they’re playing really well right now,” Ohio State junior captain Bruce Thornton said Thursday. “I don’t fear no opponent. I respect them, but I don’t fear no opponent. I feel like it’ll be a good game. They’ve got a lot of older guys that played a lot of significant minutes in college basketball. We’ve got to lock in and prepare well.”
