LAWRENCE — After signing with Kansas basketball as a member of its 2025 recruiting class, Bryson Tiller is now set to enroll early with the Jayhawks.

A KU official confirmed Monday this is the plan for Tiller. Tiller, a 247Sports Composite five-star prospect, is listed by KU at 6-foot-10 and 240 pounds. The forward will join Kansas after competing with Overtime Elite for multiple years.

“The plan is right now, at least the latest I’ve heard based on school acceptance and those sorts of things, Bryson Tiller will come here sometime in early January, not to play this year but to redshirt and have four (years) left,” Kansas coach Bill Self said, according to the Kansas City Star. “He has had an injury that has kept him very limited first semester. He’s not played in a game yet even though he’s been doing some things. We hope he’ll have full release (to practice) by the time he gets here.”

Tiller wasn’t the only player whose signing was announced last month. Darryn Peterson, a 6-foot-5, 195-pound guard, is also a five-star prospect. Samis Calderon, a 6-8, 200-pound forward, is a four-star prospect.

What the roster will look like when Tiller would play is, of course, unclear. But while he’s on the team, he’ll have a firsthand opportunity to learn from veterans like Dajuan Harris Jr., KJ Adams and Hunter Dickinson. That should serve him well ahead of the 2025-26 season.

“We are excited about Bryson,” Self said in the KU release that announced Tiller’s signing in November. “We feel like he’s a top 10 player in this class that hasn’t had a chance to play the last six months with an ankle injury. His upside is undeniable, and he’s been well trained. Bryson provides a versatility for us that he can play some five, but he can also play the four, very similar to the way KJ (Adams) has in his KU career.”
