It’s decision day.
Brockton’s AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 player in the 2025 high school basketball recruiting class, will announce his college commitment on Tuesday on ESPN’s First Take at 10:30 a.m.
The 17-year-old swingman has narrowed his list to Alabama, BYU, Kansas and North Carolina.
After playing in a game vs. Highland (Virginia) at Emmanuel College in Boston in November, Dybantsa said his plan all along was to announce his college commitment in February, but “if I know where I’m going to go, I’m not going to wait.”
This page will be updated throughout the morning.
AJ Dybantsa’s recruiting history
AJ Dybantsa received offers from nearly every Division 1 college basketball program in the nation. His list went from 20-plus traditional powers as a sophomore in 2023, and in August was cut to seven: Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, BYU, Kansas, Kansas State and North Carolina.
When he trimmed his list to seven in August, Dybantsa’s father Ace told The Enterprise that education, family, winning, tough coaching and “last but not least” N.I.L. (name, image likeness) opportunities are important to Dybantsa in the selection process.
Dybantsa reclassified to the Class of 2025 in October, 2023. He will now choose between Alabama, BYU, Kansas and North Carolina.
