Memphis basketball coach Penny Hardaway wants FedExForum full and loud for Wednesday’s game against Louisiana Tech.

He’s looking for every edge he can find, because the Bulldogs pose a particularly tricky challenge.

“We need that extra energy. And we need to come in well prepared to play a tough game,” Hardaway said Monday on his weekly coach’s radio show. “These teams have nothing to lose. They get an opportunity to play with ‘house money,’ is what I call it. If they win, it’s everything. If they don’t, it’s like, ‘OK, on to the next.’ ”

The 15th-ranked Tigers (6-1) and the Bulldogs (7-1) both come into the game looking to rebound from a loss. Memphis fell to No. 2 Auburn in the Maui Invitational championship last week, while Louisiana Tech slipped up against Southern University at home.
