Starting guard Andre Curbelo has been suspended indefinitely by Southern Miss basketball, according to a team spokesperson. The team said the suspension is due to disciplinary reasons.
Southern Miss (2-4) is hosting Milwaukee (5-3) on Saturday (1 p.m., ESPN+) at Reed Green Coliseum.
Curbelo, a senior, is in his second season with the Golden Eagles. He missed Southern Miss’ last game against Abilene Christian in the Basketball Travelers Invitational and also sat out a Nov. 7 game at UAB.

Curbelo, who’s 6-foot, 167 pounds, has been one of Southern Miss’ best players when he’s on the floor, but he’s struggled to do so as a Golden Eagle.
Last season, Curbelo, who transferred from St. John’s and played first at Illinois, missed the first 10 games because of a pending NCAA eligibility waiver. He was then in and out of the lineup due a concussion. Curbelo had a triple-double on Jan. 4 against Georgia State, the program’s first since 1980.
Andre Curbelo stats
Curbelo has played four games for the Golden Eagles this season. He’s averaging 9.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.
